Community Guidelines
Last Updated: August 11, 2025
These Community Guidelines ("Guidelines") govern all conduct and content on the HYPE platform, including but not limited to posts, messages, events, live streams, and profile information. These Guidelines form an integral part of, and are enforceable under, the Terms of Service.
HYPE may update these Community Guidelines at any time. The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects the most recent changes. Continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Guidelines.
By accessing or using the HYPE services ("Services"), you agree to comply with these Guidelines. Violations may result in removal of content, temporary suspension, or permanent account termination. In severe cases, HYPE may refer matters to relevant legal authorities.
1. Respect and Dignity
- Treat all members respectfully, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, caste, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or political opinion.
- Harassment, bullying, personal attacks, or targeted abuse are prohibited in both public and private channels.
- Criticism of ideas is welcome; attacks on individuals are not.
- The rules in these Guidelines apply equally to private messages, including chat and direct messages. Harassment, abuse, sharing non-consensual images, or sending explicit content in private messages is prohibited and may result in immediate suspension.
2. Off-Platform Conduct
HYPE may take action against behavior occurring outside the platform if it poses a risk to the safety, wellbeing, or participation of HYPE members or the integrity of our Services. This includes conduct on other websites, social media, or offline events directly connected to HYPE activities.
3. Activism Safety
- Do not publish or share another member's personal contact details, home address, or other identifying information without explicit consent.
- Avoid posting sensitive operational details of ongoing campaigns that could endanger participants.
- Be aware that activism can attract scrutiny or retaliation; you are solely responsible for assessing your own risk before sharing personal information.
- You are solely responsible for your participation in HYPE, including any risks you take when sharing personal information or engaging in activism. HYPE is not liable for personal, professional, or legal consequences arising from your actions on or off the platform.
4. Emergency Situations
HYPE may share user information with relevant authorities when necessary to prevent imminent physical harm, protect public safety, or comply with applicable laws. Such disclosures are made in good faith and in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
5. No Hate or Extremism
- Content promoting or supporting hate groups, extremist ideologies, or calls for exclusion or violence against protected groups is prohibited.
- Symbols, slogans, or imagery associated with such groups may not be used on HYPE.
4. No Violence or Threats
- No threats or encouragement of violence toward any individual or group.
- No glorification of violent acts, terrorism, or political violence.
6. Accuracy and Integrity
- Do not knowingly share false or misleading information, especially where it could harm individuals, public health, safety, or democratic processes.
- Clearly label opinion, satire, or unverified information as such.
- Manipulated or synthetic media that is likely to cause harm is prohibited.
7. Protection of Minors
- No sexualization, exploitation, or endangerment of minors in any form.
- Content that depicts abuse or harm toward children will be removed and reported to authorities.
8. Intellectual Property and Legal Compliance
- Only post content you own or have permission to share.
- Respect copyrights, trademarks, and other legal rights.
- Do not use HYPE for illegal activities or to facilitate illegal transactions.
9. Platform Integrity
- Do not impersonate others without clear disclosure and permission (e.g., parody or satire).
- Users may not claim, imply, or suggest that HYPE endorses, sponsors, or is formally affiliated with any project, cause, or individual without prior written approval from HYPE.
- No creation of fake accounts, artificial boosting of content, or manipulation of participation metrics.
- No scraping, data mining, or automated collection of user data or content without express written consent from HYPE.
- HYPE is not responsible for any third-party websites, services, or resources linked or referenced by users. Accessing third-party content is at your own risk.
10. Security and Technical Misuse
Users must not attempt to gain unauthorized access to HYPE systems, accounts, or data. Prohibited actions include, but are not limited to:
- Hacking, reverse engineering, or bypassing security measures
- Uploading malicious code, malware, or viruses
- Overloading or disrupting normal service operation
Violations may result in immediate account termination and may be referred to relevant authorities.
11. No Harassment Campaigns or Coordinated Abuse
- Do not organize or participate in targeted harassment or campaigns intended to silence individuals.
- Coordinated actions that disrupt activism events or community discussions will be treated as serious violations.
12. Sensitive Content
- Graphic depictions of violence or injury must be clearly labeled and only shared when relevant to human rights, advocacy, or news reporting. Gratuitous or shocking imagery is prohibited.
- Nudity and sexual content are not permitted, except in limited educational or advocacy contexts with prior written approval from HYPE.
12A. Media Sharing in Chats and Streams
All photos, videos, and audio shared in chats, direct messages, or streams must comply with these Guidelines. Non-consensual intimate images, violent content, or any unlawful material are strictly prohibited and will be removed.
13. Fundraising and Financial Activity
- All fundraising must comply with applicable laws and be transparent regarding purpose, recipient, and handling of funds.
- Fraudulent solicitations, pyramid schemes, and unverified financial requests are prohibited.
- Personal fundraising is allowed only if explicitly approved and aligned with HYPE's mission.
14. Unsolicited Promotions and Spam
Do not post, send, or distribute unsolicited advertisements, commercial promotions, or repetitive content that is unrelated to HYPE's mission. This includes mass invitations, chain messages, and the use of automation to distribute content.
15. Dispute Resolution and Moderation
- If you encounter a conflict, use the reporting tools or contact HYPE staff rather than escalating publicly.
- Moderation decisions are final; appeals may be submitted through our designated process.
- Repeated or severe violations will result in account termination.
- HYPE may remove or restrict content or accounts at its sole discretion to protect the safety of members, the integrity of the platform, or to comply with legal obligations — even if such activity is not explicitly covered in these Guidelines.
16. Commitment to Human Rights
HYPE supports freedom of expression, privacy, and peaceful assembly in line with applicable law and our Terms. We strive to align our enforcement with recognized human rights principles, but reserve the right to act where necessary to protect community safety.
17. Enforcement Link to Terms
Any violation of these Guidelines constitutes a breach of our Terms of Service and may result in the actions described therein, including account suspension or termination.
18. Governing Law
These Guidelines are governed by and interpreted under the same laws and jurisdiction stated in our Terms of Service. Any disputes arising under these Guidelines will follow the dispute resolution process outlined in our Terms of Service.
19. Reporting
To report content or behavior that violates these Guidelines, use the in-app reporting tools or email help@joinhype.co.
